Luxury Specifications

The Far Boathouse is particularly special as it is a larger boathouse providing ample room for two guests including an entrance hall, lounge, dining area, kitchen, double bedroom and newly fitted bathroom with generous double sized shower.

Look out for the amazing skies especially at sunrise and sunset, stargazing at the night skies and the romantic moonlight that sometimes shines into the boathouse. Relax and unwind with a DVD playing on the wall mounted Led Sony TV.

Binoculars, books of wild life and birds, Monopoly, chess, cards and dominoes are there for your leisure time.

Kitchen

The interior is unique, cosy and homely with a well-equipped kitchen with all the utensils you need and a wine cooler adds a touch of luxury. There is an electric oven with hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, coffee making machine (Ground coffee), wine and champagne cooler

Open Plan Living

The open plan living dining area hosts a stylish marble dining table, which seats 4 (just in case friends pop in to say hello!).

There is a huge sofa, which looks out of the bio fold glass doors to breath taking views of the lake and the hills. Alternatively on a sunny day sit outside on the balcony and watch the sailboats pass by and of course the ducks and swans are regular visitors. If you are very lucky Mr Otter may come and visit!

Bedroom

The cosy bedroom has a king-size bed with luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding and a sprinkle of rose petals to create a touch of romance. The bedroom has a Sony TV, quirky little dressing table and fitted wardrobe for storage.

Bathroom

Unwind in the unique driftwood style wood bathroom, with a large overhead shower, toilet and washbasin, luxurious towels and bathrobes are provided along with a range of toiletries.

Exterior

The private grounds provide convenient parking next to the boathouse. A generously sized decked areas with ample seating and table

Launch ramp area and private mooring area.

Guests can arrange boat hire with the nearby boating hire company who can deliver and pick up hired canoes and boats.

Mains Electricity

Unusually for an Ullswater lakeside boathouse, Far Boathouse is connected to mains electricity

That means that Far Boathouse doesn’t need to run doesn’t need a noisy or smelly electricity generator to heat up your water or run kitchen appliances.

There is also a personal safe for storing valuables during your stay if needed..

This places is unbelievable. Beautiful. Stunning or as they say in Wales LUSH! Janye is your perfect landlord/host. She decorated it perfectly for us. It was so magical I got down on one knee! And he said yes. We survived the storm too. We’re going back next Feb!

The Far Boathouse has to be the number one place to stay on the shore of Ullswater. Tucked away down a private track the boathouse is complete in its inventory, classically furnished, and with a view which will not be surpassed. Looking across, up, and down Ullswater, the picture changes whichever way you look. Given the landscape, add the birds, swans, ducks, boats, steamers, otters, fish and the ever changing weather, and this is a recipe for endless enjoyment. We did not move the car during our stay, we used the local bus service and the steamers to allow us to walk much of the lakeside and a couple of fells, with many more to add!

The Boathouse is wonderfully designed so you can sit all day watching out over the lake from the enormous sofa, or of course from the balcony if the weather is on your side. The whole place is beautifully and thoughtfully equipped with everything one might need to be cosy and comfortable. Even on the busiest of weekends it was quiet and private. Being right on the lake was a joy for a swimmer and the enormous shower had plenty of space for hanging costumes to dry. I cant wait to go back!

Wow! Words are hard to find that do justice to The Far Boathouse experience. As it truly takes you to another place, from its idyllic evocative tranquil location, to its delightfully well-equipped and elegantly appointed interior. It really is the most perfect get-away-from-it-all experience. I’ve been fortunate to have experience much of the world, often having to travel many thousands of miles to escape, however, just 4½ hrs drive from London here lies an oasis of calm!! My only perhaps regret in writing this review, is that others will now flock to the Boathouse and bookings will become significantly harder!!
